The Lloyd Loom technic is quite famous and very smart. In 1917, Marshal Burns Lloyd, an American, wanted to find an alternative to rattan whose transport was cut during WWI. He adapted the weaving machines used in the textile industry to a mechanical weaving made of recycled kraft paper string wrapped around a wire. This weaving is extremely strong and has a very beautiful homogeneity and regularity. Infinite number of shapes and colors !
