At the turn of the last century, rattan enjoyed a golden age, as its ease of use lent itself perfectly to the swirls, arabesques and intertwining patterns that were the hallmark of the Art Nouveau style. The charm of afternoons spent under the arbour, strolls in the botanical gardens and cafés on the grand boulevards is now part of our French way of life. Maintenance couldn't be simpler: just dust the structures from time to time or at the start of the season, using soapy water or a low-pressure Karcher cleaner.
