At the turn of the last century, rattan enjoyed a golden age, as its ease of use lent itself perfectly to the swirls, arabesques and intertwining patterns that were the hallmark of the Art Nouveau style. Maintenance couldn't be simpler: just dust the structures from time to time or at the start of the season, using soapy water or a low-pressure Karcher cleaner.
