The Marius wicker armchair

The Marius armchair is entirely made of wicker, an ecological, local (European) and renewable material. The structure, the netting, the binding, everything comes from the willow tree (the other name for wicker), from which we harvest the strands at different stages of growth. Very sturdy, very comfortable, and light to move, the Marius wicker armchair is easy to live with on the veranda, in the winter garden, or in your main rooms where it will bring a little touch of relaxation and a little air of holiday. Matches the Honorine tables.

Wicker, rattan, what's the difference?

Rattan is a tropical plant (85% from Indonesia) related to the palm family that produces a "cane" that is easy to bend (with steam). Rattan allows for tighter curves and finer weaves than wicker, but being less rigid, it requires a heavier frame.

Wicker (another name for willow) grows easily throughout Europe. It does not require any plant protection products or fertilisers. The harvest is completely regenerated each year, so it is a very easily renewable resource. Peeled hot ("buff" wicker with natural copper tones) or cold ("white" wicker), it is most often presented untreated, the willow fibre leaving its smooth and satiny surface to appear "au naturel".

Characteristics and options

Overall dimensions: height 93 x width 55 x length 63 cm, seat at 41 cm. Seat depth 41 cm, seat width 43 cm. Weight 2.9 kg. Structure, netting, arches, and bindings: natural buff wicker (copper tone). Made in Europe. The Marius wicker chair is sold here without, but it is also available with its matching cushion in several fabric variants.

A wicker chair can be used on a veranda, in a winter garden, or outside in good weather and occasionally, but cannot be considered as garden furniture. It is not made to withstand bad weather, humidity, frost, or too long exposure to the sun. Also, the Marius armchair is handmade. Dimensional differences of 1 to 2 cm may occur, no two are exactly alike.

Maintenance: dust with a damp cloth, do not use commercial cleaning products. In case of heavy soiling, clean with a sponge and soap.
