MARCEL rattan loveseat

The Marcel couch in rattan is inspired from the Marcel armchair, THE iconic model of French rattan. Very popular in our countryside in the early 1900s, it was sold at the time by peddlers who went from village to village. Light, robust, and inexpensive, it was sometimes the only element of comfort in modest homes: to knit, smoke, listen to the radio, read by the fire, or chat under the apple tree... Comfortable, simple and robust, it is still fashionable today. It can be used as an occasional bench, but its seat height allows it to be used also around a dining table.

A New England touch for this rattan sofa: patinated in a large choice of colors. It brings a lovely vintage touch but makes it even less able to stay outdoors under rain, sun or wet cold in winter. Perfect for indoor, under the shades when it is sunny... only if you always bring it back inside every night.
