The Primavera armchair in white lacquered rattan is THE iconic model of French-style rattan furniture. Very popular in rural areas in the early 1900s, it was sold at the time by peddlers who travelled from village to village. Lightweight and sturdy, it was sometimes the only item of comfort in modest homes: for knitting, smoking, listening to the radio, reading by the fireside, or chatting under the apple tree... Comfortable, simple and sturdy, it remains very much in vogue today. It can be used as an occasional chair, but its seat height also allows it to be used around a dining table with an extra cushion.
The delightfully retro charm of this rattan armchair is enhanced by its lacquered finish. It is not suitable for outdoor use, direct exposure to the elements, sunlight or damp cold in winter. It is perfect for inside the house, conservatory or winter garden. Without reservation, it can be left outside in the shade when the weather is fine, provided you take the precaution of bringing it in at night.
