The Saigon Woven Rattan Cabinet: The Epitome of Refinement

The Saigon woven rattan cabinet was designed with a wealth of detail and care. Each upright of the pine frame is completely bound with rattan strips. These rattan strips, in fact... are themselves peeled (they are made from rattan bark), sorted, and graded with meticulous care at every stage. These same rattan strips are also used to weave the ultra-fine, open “Japanese-style” wickerwork found on the cabinet’s doors and sides, gently filtering light in the manner of a mashrabiya. The Saigon rattan-woven cabinet features a fixed horizontal shelf at mid-height that divides the storage space into two identical compartments. The surface of the shelves is smooth (no wickerwork) to make it easier to store small items. Finally, the rattan wicker cabinet has two notches on the back for hanging, and its doors are fitted with small magnets that ensure a snug closure.

The Saigon rattan wicker cabinet is the smallest model in an entire line of storage furniture built on the same principle: a pine frame and finely woven rattan wickerwork, but open (without doors).
