SILLON rattan chair: technical data
Another product designed by Guillaume Delvigne for Orchid Edition and KOK Maison. The SILLON rattan chair takes its name from the visual rhythm of a Zen garden raked in concentric curves. Guillaume Delvigne highlights one of the typical attributes of rattan furniture: the "net" work, the name given in trade jargon to the thin slats that make up the seat and backrest. Judiciously spaced, round and retaining some of their natural flexibility, they ensure a very comfortable seating experience. The Sillon rattan chair is sold with a cushion in a choice of fabrics for those who wish. Compact, lightweight and stackable, it offers a new approach to rattan design as conceived by Orchid Edition.
"Guillaume Delvigne's work immediately appealed to us because we sensed a desire to create furniture made entirely from rattan. Guillaume used all the by-products made from rattan cane: woven pith for baskets, marquetry for flat surfaces reminiscent of floor mats, etc. In-depth study of traditional models enabled him to create solid structures with innovative shapes right from the outset. I immediately loved the SILLON chair because it was unlike any other. It is compact, lightweight, stackable and very sturdy. For me, it has everything going for it." Tina Ledi
