Nestled in the Marian Valley in Hungary, the BOTANIQ Golf Club is one of those places where people come as much for the course as for what comes afterwards – when you stop thinking about your swing. The interior design of the entire club was entrusted to 81font, a Budapest-based architecture and design studio founded in 2006, which is more accustomed to working on restaurants and hotels in the Hungarian capital. For the lounge areas in this part of the golf club, 81font turned to our Orchid Edition collection of designer rattan furniture.
The space in question is bathed in light, enclosed by large floor-to-ceiling windows which, when opened, blur the boundary between inside and outside. It is precisely the sort of place where rattan feels at home, halfway between the two worlds. A natural material native to Indonesia, it retains its texture and warmth in this sort of semi-indoor, semi-outdoor environment.
The cushions were made to measure, in collaboration with 81font, to complement the colour scheme chosen for the entire space.
The CONTOUR armchair adorns the dining area. The BÔA sofa and the HUBLOT armchair feature in the relaxation and lounge areas. Three pieces, three designers, and yet there is no clash between them. This is no coincidence: the collection was developed through constant dialogue between these designers and our team, with each piece retaining its creator’s distinctive style whilst harmonising with the others. It is this collaborative effort, driven by four generations at KOK Maison, that holds the whole collection together and enables us, project after project, to offer architects and interior designers rattan furniture that is both visually cohesive and technically reliable.
