The Miami XXL rattan chair in just a few words

An extrapolation of the famous adult Coquille armchair in rattan, this XXL version is a little reminiscent of the rattan "loveuses" or loveseats of the 70s with their big, soft cushion. This maxi-armchair never existed in this format at the time of the Coquille armchairs, it is a recent creation from KOK Maison. But the ultra-soft comfort of its large cushion and its pure and simple "Vintage" spirit will soon make you forget this little detail.

A little bit of history

So KOK is offering you a unique blend here. A frame that is typical of the "Coquille" rattan armchairs of the 60s, with its two interlocking circles, but which follows the format and has the thick cushion of the first rattan loveseats from Thailand. These are, therefore, two contradictory worlds meeting here. On the one hand, the world of rattan made in Europe, well established in its very characteristic style of the 60s and nowadays called "vintage rattan", light rattan furniture, but with no particular exotic connotation. On the other hand, the very first imported rattan armchairs, coming from Thailand at the very beginning, following the film Emmanuelle and its famous armchair. Loveseats, also called "papasan" would surge in popularity across the old continent. Very inexpensive, of very irregular quality, but spectacular and generous in size, fabulously exotic, they would inaugurate a new era of rattan, and mark the beginning of the end for European manufacturers. Too bad, we might say, but at the same time, was it not legitimate for these countries to be able to develop their raw materials themselves, instead of sending them to the rich countries unprocessed? Overall dimensions: height 92 cm x width 100 cm x depth 92 cm, seat height 42 cm, seat width 50cm, seat depth 50cm. Delivered assembled, non-stackable, weight 12kg with cushion. Structure in natural unpeeled rattan, transparent matt cellulose varnish. All 4 feet are finished with small nylon studs. Cushion filled with polyether wadding, and covered with a 100% olefin fabric, guaranteed anti-UV, anti-mould, and washable. Non-removable (buttoned). Indonesian manufacture.
