Marcel low-backed lacquered rattan armchair

The Marcel armchair in rattan, here in its low-back version, is THE iconic model of French rattan. Very popular in our countryside in the early 1900s, it was sold at the time by peddlers who went from village to village. Light, robust, and inexpensive, it was sometimes the only element of comfort in modest homes: to knit, smoke, listen to the radio, read by the fire, or chat under the apple tree... Comfortable, simple and robust, it is still fashionable today. It can be used as an occasional chair, but its seat height allows it to be used also around a dining table.

Overall dimensions: height 80 cm x width 59 cm x length 56 cm, seat at 45 cm, seat width 49 cm, seat depth 41 cm, armrests at 66 cm. Weight 4 kg. Made in Indonesia. Available in several colors of lacquer (see choice above), applied in our workshops and to order. Please allow an extra ten days for this.
